Abstract:A three-dimensional numerical model was developed to predict the behavior of tidal flow by using the σ-coordinate transformation. Conservation equations were solved by hybrid finite analytic techniques. The hydrodynamic model was verified with the analytical solutions for tidal forcing flow in an open channel. The simulation shows good agreement with analytic solutions.
