The Synthesis of Pyrocatechol by Oxidation of Phenol

Synthesis of Pyrocatechol, especially the development of research on the synthesis of pyrocatechol by oxidation of phenol, are studied in a systmatic way. It turns out that the hydrogen peroxide oxidizing technique which has been industrialized in the developed countries should be introduced to meet the needs of Chinese domestic market,and the research should lay emphasis on the hydrogen peroxide oxidation catalyzed by zeolite catalysts and the air liquid-phase oxidation catalyzed by organic metal complexes or enzyme so as to catch up with the world's advanced technology in the preparation of pyrocatechol.
