On landscape design of city square in Northwest China

The layout planning and landscape construction of the city square can fully display the artistic charm and cultural deposits of a city. Based on the city square in northwest China, this paper focuses on the research of its landscape design, discusses its type, function and development status, analyzes the prominent representative problems in the design of city square in northwest at present, and puts forward the basic principles that should be followed in the landscape design of the city square. Finally, according to the characteristics of climate and regional culture of northwest, this paper puts forward the feasible suggestions and strategies for the landscape design of city square in accordance with the characteristics of northwest China.
