Application of JIT and MRP in Production Management of Small and Medium Manufacturers

Just-In-Time ( JIT) and Material Requirements Planning ( MRP) are two production management methods, which have widely been applied in manufacturer at present. They play an important role in reducing material consume and inventory, decreasing working capital, raising labor productivity and delivery reliability. They have high value to raising managing level and reducing cost and creating profit in medium and small manufacturers. A practice of these methods JIT and MRP in a stamping company is discussed and a production control strategy of mixed Push and Pull is proposed for small and medium manufacturers with weak management base.
