Abstract: | Since the initiation stage of the damage process due to reinforcement corrosion had been successfully investigated in the recent past, the damage progress in the propagation stage is currently in the focus of research. This work deals with the mechanisms of cracking and spalling due to corrosion of reinforcement and aims for the development of an analytic prediction model of the damage process. On this occasion the influence of shrinkage and creep on the stress condition within the concrete cover is of major importance to the subsequent analysis of the crack formation due to reinforcement corrosion in the early propagation stage. |
