| Abstract: | Based on the study on historical alterations of river systems in the Taihu Watershed, the gain and loss of the ancient water-control practices is analyzed, such as flood control, drainage, irrigation, waterlog prevention, river transportation, lake bottom land reclamation, etc.. The experiences in history are useful and instructional for the new plan of water control in the Taihu watershed. |
