| Abstract: | A simple mathematical model is proposed and developed for the core criticality control by burnable poisons (BPs) distributed only throughout the peripheral region of the core while its central region remains free from BPs. The numerical burnup calculations confirm the effectiveness of the considered BP distribution for the criticality control of nuclear reactors. |
