Abstract:Aging was easy to cause the polymer chain fracture.And the materials could become brittle,delaminating and discoloration,which severely restricted the use of plastic pipe materials under high temperature and high humidity conditions.In this study,cross-linked polyethylene PEX,heat-resistant polyethylene PE-RT and high-density polyethylene PE100 were aged in a high-temperature water bath at 90℃.Electronic universal testing machine,differential scanning calorimeter,and the Vicat softening point temperature tester were used to study the changes in mechanical properties and heat-resistant deformation before and after aging.The results show that after 90 days of aging at 90℃,the mechanical properties and heat resistance of PE-RT,PE100 and PEX all have a decline trend.Among them,the cross-linked polyethylene PEX has the best tensile properties and heat resistance properties.Its tensile strength is more than 20 MPa,the Vicat softening point temperature is higher than 85℃,and oxidation induction time(OIT)at 220℃is longer than 20 min.It can be used as an alternative lining material for high temperature resistant non-metal composite pipes.
