Conceptual design and technology management

In the management process of production and technology of investigation and design, some difficult problems usually arose in implementing contracts, controlling plans and achieving excellent results. The key to solving these difficulties lies in the personnel related to the production and technology management and to the upgrading of result level of conceptual design. The conceptual design is a link between production management and technical operation of an investigation and design project, and also the basis to determine a technical line of the project. The conceptual design is to put forward a general and reasonable frame scheme for a project or an operation process in combination with existing engineering practice and through analysis, summarization and judgement of the intension and extension of a series of concepts. The paper discusses the conceptual design and the relations between main links in the production and technology management of investigation and design institutes.
