Abstract: | Even under the most favorable conditions, pregnancy and childbirth may tax the family's ability to cope. If there are problems with the pregnancy, these coping capacities may be further stressed. This article examines the common high risk obstetrical problems, frequently seen emotional reactions to the treatment of those problems, and social work assessment and intervention with families. |
