| Abstract: | The most popular communication protocols used in building automation systems are BACnet (A Data Communication Protocol for Building Automation and Control Networks) and LonWorks(Local Operating Network). Their characteristics and protocol architecture are introduced and compared. In addition, the applicability of them to building automation systems is discussed. It is pointed out that the two technologies will coexist for a long time in building automation systems. |
