Type of situation and sex of counselor in assertive training.

30 female undergraduates were given training in making complaints, small talk, and saying no to unreasonable requests. Significant improvement occurred in all 3 areas; however, there was significantly more improvement for making complaints than for saying no to unreasonable requests.
