Investigation of the state of metal surfaces under boundary-lubrication conditions in the presence of additives

The concepts of secondary structures and boundary friction were substantial in the framework of the theory of the nature of the phenomena taking place during friction. The results of an investigation into changes in the state of metal surfaces under the influence of iron and copper rhodanide additions in lubricating oils are described as an example.
