Abstract: | The electrochemical behaviour of lithium electrodes in contact with solutions of propylene carbonate is investigated as a function of different polymer precoating materials (poly-(2-vinylpyridine) and poly-(ethylene oxide)). Impedance and polarization measurements show that the electrochemical behaviour of the surface is influenced markedly by precoating due to a modification of the passivating layer. Such information is important for lithium electrodes in batteries with organic electrolytes. |
