摘    要:本文概述了铜生产的商业环境以及决策者面临的挑战。现在,奥托昆普闪速熔炼的地位比以往任何时候都高。任何现有的或新的火法或湿法冶金工艺都不能超越将熔炼与吹炼工序分开的闪速吹炼/生产网络的优点。用湿冶法处理炉渣有可能节省生产费用,这将促进未来的直接炼粗铜作业。铜工业的进一步整合将继续,从矿山到金属的生产链的优化最终将会开始。Mejillones项目将提供新的机会,引领新的全球铜生产。

Abstract:This paper outlines generally the business environment in copper production and challenges faced by the decision makers. Today, Outokumpu Flash Smelting has the strongest position than ever. The features of the Flash Converting/ Production Network resulting from decoupling of smelting and converting steps cannot be beaten by any existing or emerging pyro-or hydrometallurgical process. Potential savings can be seen in operating costs by using hydrometallurgy in slag treatment advancing the Direct Blister operation in future. Further integration of the copper industry is expected to continue and optimization of the production chain from mines to metal will finally be started. Mejillones Project will offer new opportunities and lead the way to new global copper production.
