Abstract:It has been long time that scientists care about increasing the quality of cotton fiber. With the development of people's life, there is a great need in color cotton. The traditional way to obtain color cotton such as dying will endanger people's health, which makes it necessary to change the color of cotton fiber by gene engineering. The formation ways of plant pigment and the sequence of the genes encoding pigment enzyme have already been known. The recent progress of these genes is described and the ways to transform cotton by gene engineering are analyzed too.
