Probe into the Emotional Design of Furniture for the Elderly

The work aims to explore the design path and prospect of furniture suitable for the elderly from the perspective of emotion.Based on the close relationship between furniture and people’s daily life,combining with the current people’s emotional pursuit in the use of furniture,the specific connotation and characteristics of emotional design were analyzed.The core of emotional design of furniture for the elderly was explored in combination with the physiological characteristics and psychological characteristics of the elderly.Specific design requirements and principles of furniture for the elderly were put forward in terms of modeling,color,function,material,etc.Finally,design thoughts and strategies of furniture for the elderly were discussed from human nature,interesting and intelligent direction.And the breakthroughs and innovations of furniture for the elderly were discussed in-depth in terms of emotional expression.Emotional development is the inevitable trend of furniture design,especially for furniture for the elderly,which should designed based on function and modeling of the product in combination with the emotional design.It should respect the personalized needs,aesthetics and values of older consumers,reflect the spiritual care and emotional satisfaction in product,and make the design of product for the elderly conform to the requirements of the Times.
