| Abstract: | The objectives of the workshop ?Nutrition and the development of the child”? were to. identify how nutrition and environment interact to stimulate or constrain the physical and mental development of infants and children;. assess the prevalence and impact of these factors in regions which illustrate the problem in developing countries;. illustrate how social actions within the existing framework might help improve development and performance and reduce the constraints imposed in children and their families at risk for malnutrition;. indicate research priorities based on identification of major problems and how specific types of research being carried out in underdeveloped as well as highly developed countries might be relevant to and adapted for use in the developing world. |
