Abstract:In order to meet the market requirements of high strength,good weldability,excellent fracture resistance,low ductile transition temperature and low production cost of plate for cryogenic pressure vessels,the American standard quenched and tempered plate SA537 CL2 was developed in Hebei Puyang Iron and Steel Co.,Ltd.It was designed with low carbon composition and added Cr alloy element to improve the hardenability of the plate.Through the production test,the best production parameters were obtained.The initial rolling temperature of the first stage was not less than 1 050 ℃,the finishing rolling temperature was 950-1 000 ℃.At the second stage,the initial rolling temperature was 860-890 ℃,and the fining rolling temperature was 820-850 ℃.The cooling rate of ACC of plate was controlled at 5 ℃/s.After rolling,the quenching temperature of the plate was910-930 ℃,the time in the furnace was (2.2×plate thickness) min,and the tempering temperature was (650±10)℃,the time in the furnace was (3× plate thickness) min.The microstructure,mechanical properties and simulated post-weld heat treatment properties of the tested plate were studied.The results show that the microstructure of the plate is tempered sortenite,the average yield strength and tensile strength of the plate reach 549 MPa and 643 MPa,the elongation rate reach 52.8% after fracture,and the impact values is 139.4 J at -68 ℃.The plate have good high temperature tensile properties and simulated post-weld heat treatment properties to meet the requirements of plates for cryogenic pressure vessels.
