| Abstract: | The shield is a specialized machine for the construction of tunnel in soft ground bases. With the progress of utility construction business, it has become imperative to use shields in the construction tunnels for railway sections and various utility tunnels in urban area. Therefore, it should be noticed by urban tunnel builders as to how to use soil pressure-balancing shields correctly according to construction and geological conditions. |
