Problem of Steel Wire Generating Heat in Drawing and Its Harm

The accumulation of heat generated in steel wire drawing may lead to ageing of steel wire,which affects the property of steel wire and causes the inhomogeneity of property of the whole steel wire The effects of drawing speed and cooling condition on tensile strength and torsion property are analyzed Some measures for preventing ageing are put forward,such as to increase number of drawing,reduce pass draught,lower drawing speed,improve cooling and lubricating condition etc It is indicated that the most effective way to solve the problem of steel wire generating heat is adopting direct water cooling for steel wire
