Design of a Multi-threaded Main-memory Database Server

： This paper introduces the study and design of a multi－threaded Main－memory Database Server（MTMDS）．The Multi－Threaded architecture of MTMDS overcomes the main limitations brought about by the traditional Multi－Process architecture such as high cost of system resources and scheduling of processes，as well as the difficulty of sharing large amount of memory．The real－time processing engine（RDE）which employs a prediction model ″MMFP″，the dynamic main－memory manager（DMM），the index method as well as concurrency control in MTMDS are discussed in detail．
