| Abstract: | The available automated CAPP solutions are mostly academic research or specific applications, which cannot be used in different environments. This paper presents a solution for automated process planning for parametric parts included in one CAPP environment with many other software components. It meets the planning requirements of any parts and products in a real industrial environment. This paper provides a brief overview of CAPP and a definition of the parametric parts used. The requirements of the CAPP environment are discussed and its concept and design characteristics are presented. A practical application of the CAPP environment is described in order to validate the proposed solution. |
