Discussion on the Development of Bamboo Pulp Industry and Bamboo Raw Material Base

The history and present situation of papermaking based on bamboo raw material in China, the characteristics of bamboo timber for papermaking, the construction of bamboo stand base for paper industry are discussed in this paper. Bamboo is a very important resource of forest, and its ecological environmental benefits are remarkably better than other trees or plants. Bamboo pulp industry is beneficial to the forest resources conservation by "substituting bamboo for wood", the mountain region ecological environmental building, the "returning farmland to forests" and the sustainable development of bamboo industry. But we must select the good bamboo species and build the high quality and high yield bamboo stand base.
