| Abstract: | With the development of modern manufacturing technology,computer-aided design and manufacturing(CAD/CAM),rapid prototyping and rapid manufacturing(RP/RM) is increasingly used in the field of prosthodontics.The popularization of CAD/CAM technique was restricted due to materials waste and high cost in the manufacturing process.Additive manufacturing was a flexible manufacturing method which effectively avoided the material waste and had a greater advantage in the manufacture of individualized restorations,developed rapidly in recent years.This paper reviews the progress of the digital dental technology,and highlights the application and development of an additive rapid manufacturing process—Selective Laser Melting in digital dentistry. |
