Abstract:For the requirement of high performance and miniaturization of microstrip filters,a dual-mode patch bandpass filter with a square ring perturbation element is proposed.The filter uses a square patch as a resonator.The input and output ports are directly fed and the filter has a symmetrical structure.The method of etching the square ring slot in the square patch is used to perturb the square patch resonator,achieving a dual-mode filter.The characteristics of the perturbation element are analyzed by the electromagnetic simulation software Ansoft HFSS,and the performance of the dual-mode filter is simulated and optimized.At the same time,the dual-mode bandpass filter is fabricated and measured.Experimental results show that the center frequency of the filter is 3.32 GHz and the relative bandwidth is 6.9%.There is one transmission zero on both sides of the passband,which improves the stopband rejection.Good agreements are achieved between the simulation and measurement results.
