摘    要:根据IETF提出的移动IP协议RFC2002的注册要求,当移动节点驻留在远离归属网络的外地网络时,将会产生严重的注册延迟,从而引起严重的包丢失和通信吞吐量的下降,为了改变这些不足,人们提出了很多本地化的移动性管理方案,该文在深入研究多种本地化移动性管理方案的基础上给出了一个通用应用模型,并据此对RFC2002和本地移动性管理方案的的注册代价进行了深入的研究,给出了计算结果,并且对结果进行了详细的分析。

Abstract:In order to provide standard Mobile IP, mobility of MN has been divided into Micro-mobility and Macro-mobility. The basic assumption is that wireless networks are grouped in domains under a single administrative authority. All domains are connected to a global network such as the Internet. On this basis, the mobility among the different domains (Macro-mobility, inter-domain) is managed by Mobile IP while a micro-mobility protocol deals with user's movements inside each domain (Micro-mobility,intra-domain).The authors study some micro-mobility protocols and give an application model based on these proposals. It is assumed that the coverage area of every domain is partitioned into cells. All cells are hexagon cells with equal sized and non-overlapping. Based on this model, authors compare registration performance between standard Mobile IP (RFC 2002) and micro-mobility management proposals and give some analytic results.
