长芦盐商对天津教育之贡献

自明万历三十八年(1610),长芦盐业的管理机构陆续移驻天津,天津俨然成为长芦盐区的管理中心,从而极大地促进了长芦盐业的发展,也给官府带来大量财政收入,提高了中央政府对天津地方的重视和关注。随着天津的兴旺发达,巨大的人流、物流、资金流活跃了天津,促进了天津城市的繁荣发展,给天津的政治、经济、文化教育等带来了深刻的影响。自明万历以来,由盐官奏请或倡捐修葺,芦商出资或捐地兴建的运学、府学、县学、书院、义塾及新式家塾、学堂、学校星罗棋布、举不胜举,长芦盐商对天津教育之贡献值得大书特书。

Contribution of Changlu Salt Merchants to Tianjin Education

Since the 38th year of Wanli reign （1610）, the administrative organizations of Changlu salt had moved to Tianjin successively, and Tianjin became the administrative center of Changlu salt industry. They did not only greatly promote the development of Changlu salt industry, but also brought in a lot of revenue for the government, drawing attention of the central government to Tianjin. With the rapid development of Tianjin, people flooded in with plenty of goods and capital, further promoting its prosperity and development, which had profound impact upon Tianjin＇s politics, economy, culture, education and etc. Since the Wanli reign, numerous state schools, county schools, colleges and private schools were funded by Changlu salt merchants under the initiative of salt officials. Thus, their contribution to Tianjin Education is worthy of particularization.
