Corrosion of implantable materials and aging of bone

This article is a review of how metallic implant corrosion byproducts affect the long-term survival of the dental implant bone bed. Cell structure, bone loss, metal release and corrosion mechanisms are explained in relation to how they influence the metabolic factors that control bone remodeling.
