Abstract:To meet the grid connection and external transmission demand of large-scale wind power farms and photovoltaic stations adjacent to the cascade hydropower stations,with the abandoned wind and photovoltaic energy,large-scale high-flow and high-lift energy storage pumping stations are used to pump water from the downstream cascade reservoir to the upstream one,forming cascade large-scale energy storage pumping stations and realizing time shift of new energy power,which is an effective way to solve the safety and stability of the electric power system.The paper compares and analyzes the reversible generating unit and the energy storage pump unit designed with the theory of the reversible generating unit.The results show that the energy storage pump unit requires less than the reversible generating unit in terms of design and manufacturing difficulty,startup operation,and working condition conversion,and the investment for the energy storage pump unit station is also lower.
