Geochemical characteristics of stream sediments and prospecting direction in the Changma area,Gansu Province

The Changma area is located at the intersection of the Arguin fault and the western segment of the North Qilian Orogenic Belt,where faults are developed and the major metal deposits discovered are gold deposits.In order to make a breakthrough in prospecting,1∶50000 stream sediment survey were carried out in the Changma area.The results show that Au,As,Sb,Cu and Mn are relatively enriched with good variation and mineralization potentials;element combination can be divided into 4 groups,and among them Au-Ag-As-Sb-Hg-Pb is typical medium-low temperature element combination,indicating frequent hydrothermal activities during the mineralization process in the research area;34 comprehensive anomalies are delineated and preliminary analysis takes 6 of them as favorable for mineralization before 2 are selected for evaluation and verification for anomaly;based on mineralization geological conditions,mineralization rules and anomaly verification results,4 prospecting prospects are delineated,pointing the direction for prospecting in the research area.
