Abstract:Objective: To establish a method of Head-space capillary gas chromatography for the determination of methyl methacrylate and its hydrolysis products including methacrylic acid and methanol in P(NIPAM-CO-MMA).Methods: The three organic solvents were determined by headspace gas chromatography on HP-INNOWAX column with FID detector,nitrogen as the carries.Results: Under the established chromatographic condition,all the three residual solvents were well separated and had good linear range.R2 were 0.9996,0.9991 and 0.9993 respcetively.The average recoveries were from 98% to 102%.RSD of precision were 0.41%、0.99% and 0.87%,RSD of repetition were 1.32%、1.84% and 2.01%.Conclusion: The method was simple,sensitive and accurate.It can be used to determine the residual methyl methacrylate and its hydrolysis products in P(NIPAM-CO-MMA).
