Abstract:Principal component analys i s (PAC) was appl led to comprehensive evaluat i on of water quality in Dongzhang reservoir. We have studied temporal and spatial change characteristics of water quality, and the pollution factors' contribution to water quality in Dongzhang reservoir; And the characteristics of water quality pollution and its rules of time space change were revealed. The results indicated that the comprehensive evaluation of water quality (CEWQ) by three principal components of the temporal characteristics of water quality in 2005 ranked the best from 2004 to 2009, and its water quality was the best; CEWq in 2009 were high-lever, and its water quality was better; CEWQ in 2006, 2007 and 2008 ranked No. 3, 2 and i, respectively; and its water quality deteriorated year by year. In 2009, CEWQ by two principal components of the space characteristics of water quality were that the water quality of each cross section was the best in winter, it met type-II water substance standard for ground water quality, and the worst in summer, type-V ; The water quality in the middle area of reservoir and the water area before dam reached type-III water substance standard for ground water quality in spring, nevertheless, type-IV in inlet water quality.
