Abstract:With PP-g-MAH as compatibilizer,the polypropylene(PP) and poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol)(EVOH) blend was preparated by extruder.The morphology and properties of PP/EVOH blend was investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM),dynamic mechanical analysis(DMA) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).SEM shows that the blends are clearly biphasic,EVOH as dispersed phases distributed in PP matrix with spherical.The diameter of EVOH particles increases as the EVOH content in the blend increases.The DMA shows the loss modulus and the glass transition temperature increases as the EVOH content increases.The storage modulus increases along with the EVOH content increases.The DSC shows the blends show double crystallographic peak and double molten peak.The position of peak is influenced as the EVOH content.In addition,the hydrophilicity of the EVOH/PP blend increase as increasing the content of EVOH.
