| Abstract: | An unusual long chain fatty acid has been isolated from argemone oil. By chemical degradation and by spectral analysis, the acid now is shown to be (+) 6-hydroxy-6-methyl-9-oxo-octacosanoic acid and designated as argemonic acid. |
