Studies on the synthesis and chromatographic behaviour of the esters of gallic acid and galloylglycollic acid

Several esters of gallic acid, and galloylglycollic acid have been synthesised, the latter for the first time. Their behaviour on thin-layer chromatograms have been examined and five suitable solvent systems are described, which enable their convenient separation and identification on the basis of R_f values.
