| Abstract: | Vegetable oil possesses excellent biodegradability and will become the most popular candidate of biodegradable lubricants. The composition and characteristics of vegetable oil are briefly described. Vegetable oil and its intensively processed products, which are used as base oil and additives of biodegradable lubricants are reviewed. Some important aspects in the development of vegetable oil based lubricants are also given. |
