Abstract:A special open-circuit experimental system was set-up with which the sub-cooled nucleate flow boiling experiments could be carried out in a quite wide range of working conditions and the mechanical degradation of polymers could be much reduced. Very dilute aqueous solutions ot polymeric additives (HEC, PAM) were experimented with higher heat flux (1×105-1.5×106W/m2) and flowing velocity (0.3-1.2m/s). The results were summarized and discussed.
