Abstract:The strength of functional parts is of key importance in additive manufacturing, and the selection of proper parameters is essential to improve manufacturing solutions. Therefore, research is currently focused on determining the influence of process parameters (i.e., part bed temperature, laser power, scan speed, and scan spacing) on the flexural strength of laser-sintered glass-filled polyamide specimens. A response surface methodology-based mathematical model was proposed to predict flexural strength, and the adequacy of the developed model was verified thorough the analysis of variance technique. Further, optimized conditions were established to maximize the output parameter through the desirability function approach.
