Design and discussion on ear-type support for aluminum plate-fin type heat exchanger

Currently, no standard or reference is available for design calculation of ear-type support of aluminum plate-fin type heat exchanger. The design calculation of ear-type support of aluminum plate-fin type heat exchanger includes the calculation of seismic force, calculation of ribs, calculation of cushion plate, calculation of allowable load, calculation of base, calculation of weld strength, and calculation of bolts. Here, the referred calculation and check methods used in the said design calculation are briefed, and in combination with practice experiences the correctness and suitability of the referred calculation method are discussed.
