Abstract:The main achievements made in water resources studies in China are as follows. In terms of water resources, a multi -layer and multi -purpose decision support system (DSS) is applied in national water resources programming, national medium and long-term plan for water supply, which enhancing predictability for a sustainable use of water resources. In terms of environmental hydraulics, studies are made on ecological environment conservation, environment protection of water projects and water environment. In terms of researches in evolution of river course and silt movement, there are breakthroughs in the respects of starting of cohesive soil, movement of high -sand -content water flow, density flow and mud -rock flow. In terms of hydraulics of high-lift lock, problems with vibration of flow tide of valve and cavitations of water distribution system are being solved. In terms of study on energy dissipation of high -speed water flow and erosion protection, many kinds of energy dissipaters are being developed in combine with the actual situation of the projects.
