THz Pulse Propagation on Microstrip Discontinuities

Abstract:We investigated the propagation of THz pulses on such discontinuities as bends and branches in microstrip lines. Both the numerical and experimental results show that the transmission coefficient does not decrease severely up to 1 THz. As a result, the degradation in the pulse shape of one picosecond width is negligibly small. We also demonstrate a THz pulse splitter showing highly identical amplitude and phase spectra between the two arms.
