Processing and Utilization of Coal Tar and Benzene

Typical international development mode and characteristics of enterprises for coal tar processing is introduced in this paper and the development status of coal tar processing industry in China is presented in particular. The low concentricity and low level of processing are the two major problems in China and the future way of development shall be in line with high concentricity, large scale, extensive processing, energy saving/high efficiency, clean and diversified production. It is suggested that giving proper guidance and making sensible distribution of tar processing enterprises, furthermore, determining right technology route and product scheme and raise pitch output are the essential methods to develop the coal tar processing industry. Finally, the coal tar processing status in Baosteel is introduced.
