摘    要:The triaxial compression tests of compacted loess samples with different lateral pressures arc mmducted with a new set of modified triaxial compression apparatus which. With the new apparatus, the soil sample can be scanned with CT machine at the same time during compression process. The different damage process of compacted loess ssmple is directly observed for the first time with CT images and CT numbers. The initiation mechanisms of soil micro-crack during different processes are analyzed with CT images.
