Some Methods of Achieving Pragmatic Equivalents in Idiom Translation

There are pragmatic differences between English and Chinese idioms in translation because of cultural backgrounds, national psychology, national customs and language habits. This paper introduces parallel transition, extraction of essence of figure of speech, popularity principle and the illegibility of quantifier so as to achieve the maximum pragmatic equivalents in the target language readers.
