Abstract: | A review is presented of practical situations where wear by particulates can occur. In certain flow regimes, wear occurs by erosion of material due to impingement of the particles. The dependence of erosive wear on flow parameters, particle properties and material properties is discussed, and suggestions are made for reducing this type of wear. |
