Abstract: | Fracture mechanics tests of injection moulded short fibre polymer composites have been conducted to provide an experimental test of the toughness equation presented here. The toughness varies as a function of temperature and strain-rate. The temperature dependence was obtained from the ‘wet’ specimen which was preconditioned in water. A simplified expression has been obtained under a constant temperature and a constant strain-rate |
