Abstract:Column Chromatographic Estimation of the Extent of Oxidation of Fats and Oils Oxidized fats and oils can be separated into oxidized and unoxidized fractions by column chromatography with aluminium oxide as adsorbent and benzene and ethanol-diethyl ether mixture as eluting solvents. The method is suitable for the evaluation of advanced oxidation where chemical methods can lead to false results.
