| Abstract: | In view of the problems encountered in synthesizing seismograms and their application, this paper systematically analyzes the factors which are in control of the resemblance between synthetic seismograms and field data and suggests to improve synthetic seismograms' quality using sonic log and convolution models. The paper also demonstrates the 'traps ' in using synthetic seismograms with real data examples and advocates to identify them via average velocity analysis and waveform correlation for seismic sequence. To study reflection waves more in detail,the waveform analysis on synthetic seismograms is furtheir introduced. |
