After an introduction of the design feature and operating principle and performance characteristics of electric submersible screw pumps, its application in problem wells, such as viscous oil wells, deviated wells and sandy wells, is described, and an economic analyzed is made. It is suggested that large-displacement screw pump with high lift be developed to widen its application scope.
